Personal Goal - Workouts Update and Lessons So Far

So I've been on my training plan for a good 6 weeks now. And I'm learning A LOT. I've adjusted my workout schedule according to my body's demands. These are the changes I made:I replaced one sprint workout with a jump-rope workout. I do the same increments with the jump-rope as I did with the sprints except I've cut the rest times in half.I still do three crossfit workouts, but I moved Wednesday's crossfit to Satruday. On Sundays I do a long run/ride and a crossfit workout and go to class if I…See More

You guys should make it too!I'm a big fan of quinoa because of it's high protein levels. Quinoa is a…See More

Call to the Martial Arts History Buffs - Study Help Please

Hi everybody!

I was talking to Mr. Samuel and Ms. Lau yesterday after class about the test next week and it occurred to us that we need to brush up on our martial arts history. So we came up with a master plan:

I am going to start this post with one martial arts history fact. Then, we need everyone to add a fact that isn't already listed.

Sensei, please spot check our posts. And of course, feel free to pitch in.

Okay, so I'll start with a Wansu… Continue

Quinoa Salad Review

Okay, so I made that yummy looking quinoa salad yeaterday and had some for dinner... Here are my thoughts...

I liked it okay. Honesttly, there was some initial disappointment because I felt it was too sweet. That could have something to do with the part of the recipe that said "drizzle." According to my friend who was coaching me (because it's not safe to leave me alone in a kitchen unless I'm only using a rice cooker) said that my version of a "drizzle" is really generous. That… Continue

Hey Adren, I'm glad you like the gi. Drawstring pants are the way to go, for sure! :)

And... as for freezing soy. You can... but prepare yourself for a change in the consistency. It's worse with the firmer tofus, but the silken does it a bit too. Basically, freezing tofu dries it out. So it gets kind of crumbly. Sometimes that's a good thing, but crumbly smoothies? Uh uh. Haha. Still, if it's not 100% tofu, you might be better off. Are you mixing the tofu with a juice or yogurt? We'll talk out the details...

Chrissy, thanks for the Gi, I loved my workout much more with the relaxation of the pants. Also as you know I've started a new diet, and I have been told you have knowledge with soy smoothies- I'm looking for any tips you may have, also do you know if they freeze well...like for the next day? See you in class soon!
