Sid Pinkerton's Green Belt Project

Hello everyone!Sid Pinkerton here asking for your support as I collect education supplies for the Boys and Girls Club of America. I believe strongly in education. In fact I believe that if everyone in the world had a college education this world would be a better place. To do my part I intend to collect as many school supplies as I can and donate them to help support under-privileged children in their education goals. Below is a list of the sorts of things I am looking for. Thanks for your…See More

UBBT Week 6

It's been awhile since I've posted anything. I have been very busy. Between my continued martial arts training, doing my UBBT necessities weekly, going to school 5 days a week, trying to find a new place that I can afford that is closer to Sacramento I haven't had a lot of time. Add on top of that the fact that I have been sick for a week now and it is quite a load. These are not excuses, just reasons. Things have gotten easier in the UBBT front. At the beginning of this challenge I was barely…See More

UBBT Week 4

Another week is gone. Chirstmas has come and gone. The new year is close behind. This next year proves to be a good one. So far I'm keeping apace with my running, pushups, crunches, squats, kata and kindness. This new year should prove to be one of the greatest challenges of my life. Iam changing schools, starting at a real university (Finally!) and am continuingto train apace with my runnning and workout. Though this challenge will begreat, I'm glad for the opportunity to prove that I can do…See More

Karate-Do, My Way of Life reading

I found the reading in "Karate-Do, My Way of Life" both fascinating and informative. To see through the eyes of the person who made it possible for us to be practicing Karate today was a glimpse into what Karate is supposed to be. In many places today Karate practice is bogged down in punching, kicking and how powerful an individual is in the sparring ring. Karate is so much more than that. Karate is compassion, kindness, balance, patience, strength of character, humility and the willingness to…See More

UBBT Week 2

End of week 2, first full week. Well it hasn’t been so bad. I think it’s going rather well actually. So far I’ve kept up with the push-ups, crunches, squats and miles. I’m a little behind on my kata, but only by a pinch. I expect to be caught up this week. Finals are over. That was the hardest part of maintaining the schedule last week, trying to squeeze in running and exercise while also keeping up with my studying. It’s amazing to know that I’m actually keeping with the program. This is the…See More

UBBT- Week 1

Well, its the end of week 1. It went by faster than I thought it would, of course it wasn't a full week so that might have added to it. I have decided that I don't completely hate running, or getting up early. It fills me with a sense of accomplishment when I get up early in the morning and go out and run. Like I'm starting off my day the right way. It will be nice when finals are done and I can try to find a more interesting place to run. At the moment im just running around my block, but some…See More
