Annual Dojo Picnic and Food Drive at "Coloma Community Center"

July 9, 2011 from 10am to 3pm
This is my favorite event of the year! Good food, BBQ, snow cones, bounce house, volleyball, and water wars! February is here!

Wow, it's hard to believe the first official month of UBBT is over.  I'm not sure if this went by fast or slow.  Either way, we're 1/12 to the finish!  This process has certainly made me mindful of what I need to do every day and I've learned that it's easier if I keep my schedule consistent day to day in order to make it through the list. The next thing for me is to complete the weaving project for my green belt.  It's my first time using a loom; I was inspired by one completed at my kids'…See More

Kotohajime - Dojo Cleanup at "Coloma Community Center"

Making ready for the new year is called kotohajime in Japan. On this day, every crack is swept, every cranny dusted or cleaned. Belt Testing and Awards Ceremony at "Coloma Community Center"

January 10, 2011 from 6pm to 7pm
This is a very special day for a few very special folks. At belt testings we take a look at the students who are ready to test and be awarded their new Isshinryu Ranks. At this particular ceremony we have someone testing for Green Belt as well as Little Dragon Black Belt Candidates that will be testing not only for their black belts, but also to move into the Junior Isshinryu class. It's traditional for ALL students to come to a dojo belt testing ceremony. February is here!
