Friends By Heart - Francis's Little Dragon Project

Francis's black belt project is called "Friends By Heart". 


Sometimes a child cannot stay with his or her first family, and is moved to a foster home or shelter. A foster child can make new friends but may be moved again to another temporary family. He or she will need to adapt to that family and make more new friends.

Grace's Green-Belt Challenge

Hello my name is Grace Cwynar, I am a student at Zen Martial Arts. I am a green belt candidate in the Advanced Junior class and have chosen to help the children at Shriner’s Hospital for my community service project.

Often time’s children have to wait long periods of time while in the Burn Unit waiting room at Shriners Hospital. I would like to provide decorated shoe boxes filled with fun things the kids can play with while waiting.

Little Dragon Naomi Piper-Pell is currently holding a diaper drive for Wellspring Women and Children's Center as part of her black belt project. Wellspring is a safe and welcoming place for women and children in need to receive meals and essential services each weekday.

Karate Kids Kick the Trash out of Sacramento

On Saturday, a large group of students at our karate school proved that the martial arts are about much more than punching and kicking. What I Learned from Girl Scouts

Yes, it's true. I learned something from Girl Scouts last weekend. Let me explain.

I was contacted by a troupe leader recently who was interested in getting her scouts into a short, one-hour self-defense class. I explained what my fee would be (a box of Girl Scout Cookies of course!) and we set a date.
