The Ultimate Black Belt Test is about setting an example of what it means to live like a black belt. It is for martial arts teachers and dojo owners (like myself). It is for brown-belts (like Tai) looking to take on the biggest challenge of their lives in earning their black belt. It is even for white-belts that have only just taken their first steps on their path in the martial arts (like you?). What we all have in common is that we are ready to move beyond just talking about what it means to be a martial artist and instead have chosen to live like a martial artist.
I’ve spoken to each of you about some of the requirements for this challenge. Every one of us is different. What a working parent of 2 achieves is going to be different than what a single person just out of high school is able to do. While each of us brings different strengths to the table, there are some things I expect all of us to do.
