This week I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in helping in Senei Bennati’s dojo’s black belt test. It was a great experience being able to go out there to help spar with the candidates. Although their test is a bit different than ours, it still gave me a refresher of what’s to come in January. All of the candidates passed which is great and I think they all did an awesome job. Bennati’s dojo may be different from ours but they are like our sister, it is great being able to share techniques with different people who have different training.
Other than that, this week has been the most “normal” week in a while, no big events or things to do, it was just school, friends, and black belt stuff. which was really nice, nearing the end of school means a lot of preparing for finals, and a lot of teachers putting in last minute stuff we need to know for tests. So school is going to be a handful but we are nearing the end.
Belt belt training has been going well. I was feeling a bit under the weather this week so I couldn’t get as many push-ups or sit-ups as I would like. That means next week is makeup time. Doing a 150 a day still puts me ahead of the game a little bit so the makeup shouldn’t be too heavy. Anyways, life is flying by, I turn 16 real soon, and the rest of these months should go by quickly.

Participating and seeing other schools and how they do things is instrumental to your growth as a martial artist. I’m glad you got to participate!
