Over the weekend I had the privilege to attend a sabaki seminar hosted by one of Sensei Mike’s good friends Sensei Ray. This seminar lasted 2 hours and every second was captivating and interesting. We went over the basics of sabaki, and if you didn’t know sabaki is being able to manipulate the opponents power and redirect it. At the beging I knew most of the stuff physically but Sensei Ray talked in depth about the concepts and application behind sabaki, which was a big eye opener. I also got to work on new techniques or techniques I’ve barely worked on so that was always fun. Another thing I picked was the most drastic use of momentum. I am used to the concept of stealing someone’s balance and using it but Sensei Ray showed it on a whole new level, And being able to work and practice was very fun. Needless to say, this was a very interesting seminar and I’m very glad I was able to go.

Wow Lucas, sounds like you learned a lot. The more you know, the better. It enriches your life. Glad you had a good day!! Love, G
Training experiences like this should always be taken advantage of! Keep attending as many seminars as you can. I know that when I visit another school to give seminars, I always bring my best techniques and lessons. In my experience, most other instructors do the same thing.
