UBBT- Week 1

In Black-Belt Candidate by Sid PinkertonLeave a Comment

Well, its the end of week 1. It went by faster than I thought it would, of course it wasn’t a full week so that might have added to it. I have decided that I don’t completely hate running, or getting up early. It fills me with a sense of accomplishment when I get up early in the morning and go out and run. Like I’m starting off my day the right way. It will be nice when finals are done and I can try to find a more interesting place to run. At the moment im just running around my block, but some scenery would be nice. To date I have done:

11.5 Miles

520 push ups

520 squats

560 crunches

18 repetitions of my Kata.

Also completed are 10 acts of kindness:

1. Picked up trash around my classroom

2. Professor needed help cleaning up the lab, i volunteered

3. Let someone else have a parking spot

4. Allowed someone else to pull out from a parking lot when traffic was backed up

5. Drove my mom around so she didn’t have to take the bus

6. Watched my friends son so he could have a break

7. Brought dinner for a gathering of friends so that the host didn’t have to cook.

8. Helped a classmate identify rocks for a project

9. Held the door for an older couple coming out of a resteraunt

10. Let someone with young kids cut infront of me at the checkout line

Well, one week down, many more to come, but I face it with a smile, and look forward to the day when this is a way of life and not just a challenge that I set for myself.
