Week 1
So, it’s not really been a week yet, but I’m a the Monday – Sunday week kinda’ gal, so…
This week felt good. I’m able to get a lot in during my hour lunch break which is pretty lucky. I slip away from my desk right at 12 and am out the door for my run by 12:05. I get a 5k (3.2 miles) in and am in the company gym by about 12:35. Then I race through my crunchies in sets of 25, and struggle through as many push-ups as I have time for. Usually that’s between 75 – 100. Then at 12:45 it’s back into the locker room, quick shower, prep my lunch and back at my desk by 1:00. It’s a really nice break in the middle of my work day.
I think the hardest part so far is the meditation/quiet time. I have one of those … hmmm… It’s like my head is always processing stuff no matter how relaxed I am. I know that true meditation takes years of practice. But when I stop and actually listen to all the things my head is churning about, it’s overwhelming. Which is the opposite of what meditation should be. Haha. Running is my quiet space. I don’t think when I run, I just run. So, I know there’s hope. π
Started my first book: A Life Worth Breathing. I’m right where I want to be with all my daily exercises. I got 9 running miles in (none over the weekend), but I’m not stressing getting miles in every day because I like to go on long bike rides every now and then (and am currently in the market for an indoor trainer). I’ve done my 150 push-ups and 150 sit-ups a day, my basics repetitions, logged 12 acts of kindness. Moving right along.
Looking forward to another week.
