Back in the saddle!

Finally! My hand is back to 99.5% (Still a little less grip strength but improving). Half the battle now is just being careful not to damage my hand again (break or sprain). As I am a little behind on my sparring requirements I am confident over the next few months I will be able to make up for some of the sparring time lost due to my broken hand. This will require more sparring time on a weekly basis and the need, of course, to find balance across work, family, vacation time, karate class and training, running, etc.

I am able to consistently do fist pushups now, and feel my wrist is back to where it was prior to breaking my hand.

It feels like I am back in the saddle and like the cowboy holding on while the bronco bucks, this is how the “ride” sometimes feels as a black-belt candidate. Settle in, hold on, and do the very best you can during the ride!
