Week 55 – Dirk Herfurth

As the New Year begins, I find myself reflecting on the past year and all that it has brought me. It’s been a long journey filled with hard work, dedication, and perseverance, but it has all been worth it.

The past year has been filled with countless hours of training, sweat, sore muscles, and aching joints. However, I lost a few pounds of body fat; I am faster with my kicks and punches. The rounds of sparring do not tire me as much as at the beginning of last year. I can do the 125 daily push and sit ups easily.

In short: I am in way better shape as December 2021 when it all started.

Next week is testing day -this one last milestone of this journey. On the one side I am looking forward to reach this goal and (hopefully) pass the test. On the other side I find myself wondering what’s next. I’ve spent so much time and energy focusing on this one goal, that I’m left feeling a little lost and unsure of what to do next.

Whatever I choose to do, I know that it’s important to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone and strive for personal growth and self-improvement. After all, life is about the journey, not just the destination. And there will always be opportunities to challenge myself and learn new things.
