Cooper Riegel – Week 18

This week has been a nice break from school. My dad and I ran into my stepdad on the mountain and we ended up skiing together for a few hours. It was an amazing day and we had a ton of fun. The visibility wasn’t the best but all the powder on the hill was amazing. This is the first season I’ve had skis wide enough to ski on powder and it has been a great learning experience. In the past, I have pretty much sunk into the snow and gotten stuck on days like this so being able to ski in more areas has been really nice. That same day when my mom and I went to see our horses I got to see the ostriches the barn owners have. I haven’t seen one in captivity before and they were kind of freaky. Apart from skiing, I have been playing videogames with my friends and catching up on some sleep. Apart from this I’ve spent my break writing some blog posts and starting to think about my community service project. I also went down to Point Reyes with my mom and stepdad and hiked the Tomales Point Trail along the sea cliffs. The weather was really nice and the hike ended up being about 10 miles. We were going to hang out at the beach near the trailhead but by the time we got back none of us wanted to walk any farther.
